Welcome to SleepSafeCanada
Welcome to SleepSafeCanada, a national public education initiative presented by The Sleep Society. Our purpose is to improve public understanding of sleep and its importance to health, wellbeing, performance and safety. These Terms of Use explain the conditions for accessing and using our website and educational resources. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website.
Educational Purpose
SleepSafeCanada provides general information to improve public awareness and understanding of sleep health and related subjects. This information is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional about individual health concerns or before making significant changes to your health or treatment regimen. SleepSafeCanada does not provide individual medical consultations, diagnoses or treatment recommendations through this website.
Accuracy and Reliability of Information
SleepSafeCanada strives to provide reliable, balanced and evidence-based information from established research and recognized professional and institutional sources. However, scientific knowledge, healthcare recommendations and professional practices continue to evolve. Although we endeavour to keep information accurate and current, we cannot guarantee that all content is complete, accurate, current or appropriate for every circumstance. Visitors should use the information as educational guidance and seek professional advice when appropriate.
Independent Educational Resource
SleepSafeCanada is committed to editorial independence, transparency and the public interest. Our educational content is not intended to promote particular commercial products, treatments or healthcare providers. The involvement of endorsers, partners, supporters and sponsors does not constitute preferential endorsement or recommendation of their products or services. Commercial relationships and contributions must not determine our clinical or educational recommendations.
External Links and Third-Party Information
Our website may link to external organizations, institutions, healthcare resources and other websites. These links help visitors find further information and relevant resources. External websites operate independently and remain responsible for their own content, accuracy, availability, privacy practices and terms of use. The inclusion of an external link does not imply endorsement of every statement, product, service or activity associated with that website.
Copyright and Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, original content, text, graphics, branding and other materials created for SleepSafeCanada are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. Visitors may share links to our educational resources for legitimate, non-commercial educational and public awareness purposes. Brief quotations may be used where permitted by law, with appropriate acknowledgement of SleepSafeCanada as the source.
Reproduction, modification, redistribution or commercial use of substantial original content requires prior written permission unless otherwise permitted by law. Third-party materials, including logos, photographs, research publications and contributed content, remain subject to the rights and permissions of their respective owners.

Contributions and Submitted Information
SleepSafeCanada welcomes suggestions, corrections, educational contributions and expressions of interest from individuals and organizations. Submitting material does not guarantee its publication or acceptance. We may review, edit, decline or remove submitted material as reasonably necessary to maintain accuracy, relevance, editorial independence and the initiative’s educational purpose.

Privacy and Personal Information
SleepSafeCanada respects the privacy of its visitors, contributors and participating organizations. Our separate Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information. Visitors are encouraged to review that policy before submitting personal information through the website.
Website Availability and Changes
We aim to maintain an accessible, reliable and useful educational resource. However, uninterrupted website availability cannot be guaranteed. We may update, modify, temporarily suspend or discontinue website features or content for maintenance, security, accuracy or operational reasons. We may also revise educational information as new evidence, research or professional guidance becomes available.
Responsibility and Limitations
SleepSafeCanada makes reasonable efforts to provide reliable educational information and maintain the integrity of its website. The information is for general education and should not replace professional assessment or advice. To the extent permitted by law, SleepSafeCanada and The Sleep Society disclaim responsibility for losses or damages arising from reliance on website information, technical interruptions, or the content or activities of independent third-party websites. Nothing in these Terms of Use excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Emergency Medical Situations
SleepSafeCanada does not provide emergency medical services or urgent clinical advice. Anyone experiencing a medical emergency should contact emergency services immediately.
